Concerns: It’s Tijuana…
Why we go there: We probably should just call this guide “Hookers, booze and tacos… ” but we strive to keep things classy around here, so we’ll just stick with the current format. Welcome to everything you need to know about TJ and its renown nightlife.
Logistics
The most convenient route to reach Tijuana is by first traveling to San Diego, then heading south on I-5. While driving across the border is an option, it’s probably better to just park at the border and walk across. Make sure you park inside one of the paid lots.
The Trolley train to San Ysidro, located right at the border, is another viable choice. The fare from downtown San Diego is only 2.50 USD, with trains departing every 30 minutes. Walking across the border is often quicker than driving due to the border agents and vehicle inspections, particularly on the return journey.
Once across, you can either seek out an Orange Libre taxi or walk into Zona Norte which will take you about 20-25 minutes. Don’t worry about getting lost there are numerous signs posted that will help guide your way.
Travel requirements to Tijuana, Mexico, can vary depending on your nationality and the purpose of your visit. However, here are the general requirements:
Passport: A valid passport is required for all travelers entering Mexico, regardless of nationality. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned stay.
Visa: Depending on your nationality, you may need a visa to enter Mexico. Citizens of many countries, including the United States, Canada, the European Union, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, don’t need a visa for stays of up to 180 days for tourism or business purposes. However, it’s essential to check the Mexican embassy or consulate website in your country to confirm visa requirements.
Tourist Card (FMM): Most travelers visiting Mexico for tourism purposes need to obtain an FMM (Forma Migratoria Múltiple), also known as a tourist card. This card allows stays of up to 180 days and can be obtained upon arrival at the port of entry (like airports or land borders) or online in advance through the Mexican National Immigration Institute’s website.
Proof of Sufficient Funds: Though it’s not always requested, it’s a good idea to carry proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay in Mexico, especially if you’re staying for an extended period.
Return Ticket: Some travelers may be asked to provide proof of onward or return travel, indicating their intention to leave Mexico before their tourist card expires.
Customs Regulations: Make sure you’re aware of Mexico’s customs regulations, including allowances for duty-free goods, prohibited items, and restrictions on the amount of currency you can bring into the country.
Travel Insurance: While not mandatory, it’s advisable to have travel insurance that covers medical expenses and emergencies during your stay in Mexico.
Always double-check the entry requirements before your trip, as they can change due to factors like government regulations or the current global situation. It’s also a good idea to register with your country’s embassy or consulate in Mexico before traveling, especially if you plan to stay for an extended period.
The official currency is the Mexican Peso. Although U.S. dollars will be accepted at most larger businesses from Tijuana to Cabo, the exchange rate when paying in U.S. dollars can be significantly less than the official rate.

The Nightlife
Let’s start by discussing the strip clubs in Tijuana’s Zona Norte. Note, we are using the term “strip club” loosely. These places are essentially straight up brothels, albeit they actually do have girls dancing. The cool thing about this “gogo” type atmosphere is that it allows you an opportunity to check out the talent before making any financial commitments. Most of the clubs will have scheduled shows throughout the evening and some can get pretty wild.
The Hong Kong complex consisting of the gentleman’s club/strip club and the Cascadas Hotel is a TJ institution. It has been ground zero for generations of guys. It’s not uncommon for guys to check into HK and never leave for the duration of their trip to TJ.
Purchase a VIP card from Hong Kong and receive up to 80% off room rates at the Casacadas during the week.
But as the saying “variety is the spice of life”. Walk across the street and explore a few of the other clubs such as Chicago Club, D&G Bar Dolce & Gabbana, La Malquerida, Tropical Bar. Unfortunately the other big contender in town Adelitas has been shut down permanently.
Lady Drinks inside the various clubs will run you $8-$10 and you will be expected to buy a few during your visit. Gas, grass or ass, nobody works for free.
One hour with one of the sexy dancers will cost you between $140.00 and $180.00 USD depending on the club and the dancer. That cost will also usually cover the use of a short time room.
Escorts in Tijuana
If the club scene isn’t your thing you can always dial up a sexy Mexican woman from one of the escort agencies. Be aware that most Escort Services will not allow their models to venture into any of the Zona Norte hotels. You’ll need to book a room outside of the district if you plan on entertaining one of these ladies. Average fees range 120.00 to 150.00 USD per hour.

Street Hookers:
Running low on funds and in a pinch. Just take a stroll around Zone Norte and it won’t take long to find one of the “ladies of the night” to engage with. You’re looking at 30.00 – 40.00 USD for twenty minutes of selective fun. We say “selective” due to the fact that you’ll be extremely limited to what you can do with one of these girls. Extras are available but there will be an up charge.
It goes without saying, safe sexual practices are a must in Mexico. These girls get a lot of business and not all of it is with clean and respectable gentleman such as the members of our group. So please protect yourself.
