W&R Pro: Blackbeards
Blackbeards adult resort is located in Costambar Beach, just outside of Puerto Plata Dominican Republic. Just 35 minute drive from Sosua and about twenty minutes from POP airport. While the resort itself isn’t located directly on a beach, its about a block away. The beach itself is nice and even has a few little beach bars but that’s not why people come here. The main attraction at Blackbeards is the point and click female companionship, without any nonsense.
To be fair, this place is not the Ritz Carlton. Think more along the lines of a 1978 Holiday Inn and you’ve got the decor. This resort definitely has some miles on it (as do the mattresses) but the staff does a commendable job of keeping the rooms spotlessly clean and the hot water flowing. It’s also worth mentioning that the bar/restaurant turns out some pretty damn good food and strong drinks.
This is one of the few spots in the Dominican Republic that I’ve never produced a video about, despite the demand. Obviously this is touchy subject material and the management staff isn’t crazy about photo’s / videos being taken on the premises, neither are the girls, neither are the customers etc etc etc. So I’ve kept this subject on the back burner for a while.
Girls, girls, girls. That’s really why your reading this, so lets get to the point. Upon walking in, you will find a dozen or so hanging out right next to the bar. They have two shifts, day and night and management does a good job of rotating new faces in regularly so you can expect to see some variety. You’ll find the girls to be very receptive to any glance, nod or wink. Any sign on interest and they will jump up and come right over to wherever you are sitting. Don’t be shy, they are here for a reason and it isn’t to make drinks or serve food. Remember I said this place is point and click, well there is a menu for services rendered and it clearly outlines what you can expect to pay (see attached). You will not be overcharged, hustled or robbed while you are at this establishment. Any bad behavior ( should it occur ) is quickly resolved by the management.
The resort features a swimming pool, separate jacuzzi ( yes, you can visit it with your new friend), restaurant, bar and a small night club which opens on the weekends.
Rooms range from one bedroom studios to a two bedroom penthouse suit. Cost is roughly 60.00 per night for the standard room. Check their website for current pricing.
My honest opinion is that this place gets old after three days. Shooting fish in a barrel is great if you are starving but otherwise I’d rather wade out into the river and catch a wild trout. Good analogy - right? The other downside is that some of the guests that frequent this place on the regular give out a really strong creep vibe. Like 12 on the creepy creepy meter. I’ve seen guys roll in the door with presents, flowers and other nonsense to present to “their” regular girl. “Dude, you know she’s a hooker right?”
Like I said, the real attraction here is the no nonsense point and click. Book a room for a few nights, check in, grab a drink by the pool and pick the prettiest one. Don’t blink, or she’ll be gone.
Last note, the resort will gladly keep a food/beverage tab running at the bar for you during your entire stay. I’d recommend cashing that tab out at least once a day. You can easily run up a big tab without knowing it and…. accidental charges can happen.
