W&R Pro: Bayahibe 🌴 Dominican Republic

The full cut on our latest adventure to the far side of the island…

Bayahibe Dominican Republic - if you have the opportunity definitely come here and check this little village out. The village itself isn't very big, everything is within walking distances and we felt extremely safe there. No car needed if you staying in the village or at the Hilton All Inclusive. I had no issues walking around late at night and never once felt insecure.

Parking is available on the waterfront just past the bus parking - google map search Onno’s Bayahibe and it will take you directly into the parking lot. We left our car there for an entire day/evening with zero issues. Cost is 100 pesos per day.

Down on the waterfront there are some great beach bars, Onno's / Saona Cafe / BarcoBar serving cold beer and delicious cocktails not to mention the food. Lot's of Italian expats in the area so conversely there are a lot of Italian restaurants. You won't go hungry or thirsty in Bayahibe.

As I said in the beginning of the video, I think this is one of the safest areas in the entire country to drive. Flying into SDQ or PUJ, renting a car and driving to Bayahibe is absolutely doable, just remember to keep your defensive driving skills sharp.

Boat Excursions to Saona Island - everyone in town sells excursions. Most ranged from 3,500 to 5,000rd per person. Landa worked a deal with a guy by the name of Wilson, he works at the second restaurant down the row on Kukka Beach. He's not hard to find lol.

Hotels - We stayed at the Alkquimia Hotel Lounge and Bar in Dominicus which is about a 5-10 minute drive from the village. This hotel is not beach front nor will you find beach access without a resort pass. I would probably would stay at the Hilton for an all inclusive option. Nice facilities and it is within walking distance of the Bayahibe Village.

If you want to stay in the village, Hotel Bayahibe seemed to be a good option.

We stayed at the Alkquimia Hotel Lounge and Bar Public Beach

Playa Kukka Favorite drinking spots Onno's Bayahib, Saona Cafe, Playa BarcoBar, and the Lost Bar - very good pizza
